Following our most recent correspondence, which related to planned changes to checks on products imported into Great Britain from the EU, as well as advice for both suppliers and customers, there have been some changes to timelines relating to these checks, which most parties will have seen.
Please find the attached statement we’ve received from Government, which outlines the reasons for the six month delay in timeline changes and a revised timetable for the introduction of controls starting in October.
We will continue to monitor this situation closely as we start to see increased quantities through ports, with businesses reopening as lockdown restrictions begin to lift. Much of the contingency activity that we had in place will be provisionally placed on hold, and revisited as required against the new timeline.
Please be assured that as ever, we’ll be wholly focused on keeping you abreast of any changes as and when we’re made aware of them.
Kind Regards,
Jim Gouldie
