As you may have seen in the media, the Communication Workers Union (CWU) has voted for industrial actions and announced that BT members (engineers and contact centre members) will be serving notice for strike action on Friday 29th July and Monday 1st August 2022.

SCG partners with a number of infrastructure providers, however, as some of our products and services are reliant on BT, we wanted to make you aware that the strike action could impact both the delivery and repair of some of these services.

Openreach has indicated that they will reintroduce the priority staircase used in the first COVID lockdown, focusing on Critical National Infrastructure orders.  They will take government guidance on what sectors are classed as Critical National Infrastructure and release an updated list in due course.
